Columbus State College

During the fall 2009-2010 school year, several high school juniors from Oakstone attended college for the first time at Columbus State.  These juniors completed the college acceptance process and will receive both college and high school credit for the college electives they are taking.  Enrollment in the PSEO (Post Secondary Educational Option) available for the State of Ohio allows the college courses they are enrolled in to be free of charge for most families.  Juniors and seniors at Oakstone who are eligible now have the option of taking college courses though our partnership with Columbus State.

We plan to grow this program in the future.  As our student population of juniors and seniors gets larger, we will be able to offer Columbus State classes on Oakstone’s campus.  High school students will be able to graduate with not only a valid Ohio High School Diploma, but their freshman year of college completed as well as funded by the State of Ohio.
