Job Description: Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists
At CCDE, speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists are developing and implementing an integrated generalization model to address speech, language, social interaction and occupational performance skills throughout the day. Our vision is to provide these therapies within the context in which they are required to use the skills to best meet the needs of our students. We know that language and occupational services provided within the "natural" environment will help students realize their full potential both in and out of the classroom. In order to accomplish our goals, we work with the classroom team and the individual child to offer a balance of therapy that promotes personal growth and social interaction, while promoting generalization of skills.
As a team, we work to embed social communication and occupational skills into the curriculum for all students and allow for incidental learning, as well as provide adaptations and modifications so that all children can fully access and engage in the curriculum. Therapists work in collaboration with the whole team to ensure the best quality and continuation of services. We expect all of our students not only to engage in learning within their environments, but also to develop life long social interaction and motor skills and lasting friendships.
